President Donald Trump — fresh off House approval of a health care bill that would cut taxes for the wealthy to gut care — is now peddling a tax proposal that would cut corporate taxes by $2.4 trillion over 10 years. The wealthiest corporations would get the overwhelming majority of this, while small businesses would get far less. And like all tax cuts for the wealthy, the people who would end up paying for them are us, the everyday taxpayers, in the form of deep cuts to vital services that we rely on every day.

Nearly 70 community activists and border residents gathered on Tuesday, May 23, at the Malcolm X Library for Black and Brown Unity Through Resistance, a community forum to explore ways that Black and Brown communities can work together to fight racial injustice at the hands of law enforcement

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights in Washington, D.C., has agreed to open a case against the U.S. government for the murder and cover-up of Anastasio Hernández Rojas, who was killed by border agents seven years ago.

On May 10th, the Inter-American Commission for Human Rights officially opened the case of Anastasio Hernandez-Rojas. The widow and family of Anastasio submitted the petition to the Commission in March 2016. The Commission has now accepted the case and has given the U.S. government three months to respond to the very serious allegations of extrajudicial killing, torture, and obstruction of justice.
