The reviews are in, and the 29th All Peoples Celebration was a resounding success!

Featuring an impassioned keynote address by Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, the All Peoples Celebration brought together over 1,100 people from across San Diego County to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year theme was Ignite Change, which reflects the imperative, in a time of great uncertainty, to meet darkness with light.

Rev. Barber’s speech on how to move the country forward was received with “heartfelt cheers, roaring applause, tears and numerous standing ovations”.

The program also featured performances by local artists, a community art project, and a powerful poem by 2016 National Youth Poet, Maya Salameh. In addition, dozens of social justice organizations from across the county provided important information to the public on how to get involved in making San Diego a better place.
