What’s on the 2018 primary election ballot?

During this primary election, San Diegans will help determine either outright winners or nominees for the November 6 general election. For the races in the City of San Diego, State of California and U.S. Congress, the top two candidates of each race will face off in November. Meanwhile, candidates for countywide offices, such as the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, will be able to win outright during the primary election if they get more than 50 percent of the vote.

Some of the races in this year’s primary election include:

  • San Diego County District Attorney
  • San Diego County Board of Supervisors (District 4 and District 5)
  • San Diego County Sheriff
  • San Diego County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk
  • San Diego County Treasurer/Tax Collector
  • San Diego City Council (Districts 2, 4, 6, and 8)
  • U.S. House Representatives for California Districts 49 & 50
  • California Governor
