Alliance San Diego (alliancesd.org) is hiring paid canvassers for its Summer 2023 Special Election Voter education program. The interview and selection process will begin as soon as June 2023!
In order to be hired, applicants must attend an interview and orientation with Alliance San Diego. Interview phone calls will be scheduled individually with each applicant. Based on the interview, applicants will be invited to attend an orientation. The orientation will take place on the following dates:
- Friday, June 23rd at 3pm - 6pm
- Saturday, July 1 from 10am - 1pm
The work shift is generally Sundays through Thursdays 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturdays 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and Fridays are off.
This voter education program will focus voters' attention on the upcoming special election and the process for voting. We are looking for people with outgoing personalities who are interested in making a difference in under-served communities.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Good people skills.
- Energetic and physically able to walk up to 2.5 miles during each work shift.
- Prior canvassing or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in a second language (Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Tagalog, etc.) is a plus.

From the resumes submitted, we will invite qualified candidates to an interview during which candidates will be given more information about Alliance San Diego and its civic engagement program. Candidates will also be asked questions to measure qualifications and fit for the team. Hiring decisions will be made from the pool of candidates completing the entire process and those who can attend the canvasser orientation and training.
Pay rate starts at $22.00 per hour. These positions are part-time & temporary.
