Ending Police Violence

Alliance San Diego, a member of the Coalition for Police Accountability and Transparency (CPAT), hosted a digital press conference (click here to see the recording) to unveil CPAT’s new Police Accountability Now policy package.

The package calls for limiting discretionary pretext stops, redirecting resources from police budgets to non-law enforcement alternatives, adopting robust de-escalation policies and use-of-force policies that align with strict standards and best practices, and establishing an independent community oversight board with investigatory and subpoena powers. The press conference featured Alliance San Diego’s associate director, Christopher R. Wilson. CPAT also hosted a week of action, featuring teach-ins, speakers and more.
