SAN DIEGO, CA -- Alliance San Diego is proud to announce Valarie Kaur, a national civil rights activist and a leading Sikh American voice, as the keynote speaker for the 32nd annual All Peoples Celebration, a breakfast honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 

Valarie Kaur is the founder of the Revolutionary Love Project, a national initiative to champion love as a force for justice and a wellspring for social action. She is a Sikh racial justice activist, civil rights lawyer, award-winning filmmaker, educator and author of a forthcoming book, Revolutionary Love. The All Peoples Celebration brings together more than 1,000 diverse community members for an inspiring program to honor the living legacy of Dr. King and his vision of a Beloved Community, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The annual event is a touchstone to reconnect, recalibrate, and recommit to the teachings of Dr. King.

Valarie Kaur issued the following statement:

“Dr. King showed us how to fight tyranny and oppression with a fierce kind of love. I believe that it is time to reclaim love as a force for justice for a new time. I am deeply honored to speak in his memory — and invite us to summon our deepest bravery to walk the path of revolutionary love together.”
