But today, our democracy is under threat, where billionaires have taken control of our government and are rigging it in their favor.

Now, Congress is considering a budget proposal that includes massive tax breaks for the wealthy that is paid for by cutting vital programs like Medi-Cal, food assistance, and childcare supports that help us thrive. But WE the People ARE the power—and WE can call on Congress to shut down this money grab!

WE the Young People, overworked and underpaid, forced to choose between paying for school or rent, while billionaires want to take away our financial aid.

WE the Parents, stretched thin paying for rent, child care, and keeping our kids fed, while billionaires try to take money from CalWorks and CalFresh to fuel their money grab.

WE the Seniors, hanging on by a thread paying for medications and doctor’s visits with the help of Medi-Cal, while billionaires try to rob us of our health care to make us weaker and sick.

The greed of billionaires and corporations is threatening the very fabric of our democracy. It’s time to rise up and say it loud: WE the People, NOT the Billionaires! Together, we have the power to demand justice and fight back. The arc of history bends toward justice—and we the people are the ones who will bend it back toward what’s good, right, and fair.
