All of us deserve to be treated with dignity, and for our fundamental human rights to be protected. But that’s not what happened when the City of San Diego violated these rights.

The proposed encampment ban ordinance will go before San Diego City Council for its second reading on Tuesday, June 27th. It is scheduled for the morning session beginning at 10am under the consent agenda, Item: 58: Amendments to the San Diego Municipal Code Related to the Unauthorized Camping or Encampments on Public Property.

On June 13, 2023, the San Diego City Council will vote on the Mayor’s proposed encampment ban that will criminalize – not humanize – homeless community members who need housing, not handcuffs.
