San Diego City Council Must Pass PrOTECT to Limit Bias in Police Practices

The problem

It starts with a pretext stop. 

In San Diego, law enforcement officers can stop a motorist if the officer has reasonable suspicion to make the stop. Not only does this legal standard give police officers broad authority to stop anyone they think might be committing a crime, but it gives opportunity for officers to unfairly target our communities, especially Black and brown communities.

Council President Jen Campbell is Trying to Override Voters – Don’t Let Her!

This may not be Georgia, but make no mistake about it – voter manipulation is happening right here in San Diego – and we need your help to stop it. 

Today April 6th, some members of the San Diego City Council are attempting to change the outcome of the March 2020 election. That’s right, change it, by lowering the win threshold to get the outcome they want, more than a year after voters cast their ballots and made their decision.
