We got arrested for supporting Dreamers

On December 6, 2017, my colleagues and I risked our freedom on the steps of Capitol Hill while supporting Dreamers during a civil disobedience action -- and we were swiftly arrested (min. 29) by Capitol Police.

It was a risk worth taking

Since Trump ended DACA in September, thousands of young, aspiring citizens have lost their protection from deportation -- and many more are awaiting the same fate. Meanwhile, Congress has yet to pass a bill and are conditioning any potential bill on further militarizing our border region with more walls and more border agents that harm, not help, our communities.

We are willing to risk our freedom, are you willing to call Congress RIGHT NOW and ask for common sense solutions that protect Dreamers without further compromising the integrity of the Border?

“Hello! My name is __________ and I live in (city/state). As a constituent of Rep./Sen. ___________,  I want to express my concern for the protection of Dreamers. These young people should not be used as bargaining chips. To further militarize the border region in exchange for a Dream Act would devastate the very families of the young immigrants we are trying to protect. I urge Rep./Sen. ___________ to pass a bipartisan Dream Act that does not further militarize border communities by the end of the year. Thank you!”

In solidarity,
