Now Hiring -- Paid Canvassers

Do you want to be a part of building a better San Diego?  Alliance San Diego is hiring paid canvassers for its Spring 2017 Civic Engagement program. The program will start on Monday May 23rd, 2017 and end on June 13, 2017. The work shift is 5 hours a day, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday through Wednesday, and 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturdays. Fridays off.

We will be talking to voters and residents in the City of San Diego and surrounding cities. The program will educate people on issues and policies impacting our community, such as tax and fiscal policies, community revitalization, law enforcement accountability and transparency, and civic engagement.

If you are interested in helping us educate and motivate residents to help make San Diego's future a bright one, we have a position for you!

Qualifications:

  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Good people skills.
  • Energetic and physically able to walk up to 2.5 miles during each work shift
  • Prior canvassing or equivalent experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in a second language (Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, Tagalog, etc.) is a plus.

From the resumes submitted, we will invite select candidates for a group interview, during which candidates will be asked questions and can learn more about the job requirements. Candidates who successfully complete the group interview will be receive a one-on-one interview. Hiring decisions will be made from the pool of candidates completing both processes. We will hire the best of the best from this process. (You must be available and attend the 2 interviews to be hired). 

Pay rate is $14.00 per hour. Positions are part-time & temporary.
