Alliance San Diego is offering a non-partisan candidate training program. Designed to address the growing demand for skilled and knowledgeable candidates, the hope is to prepare underserved and underrepresented community members (AAPI, African-American, Immigrant, Latino, and/or Refugee) to run effective campaigns for elected office in our region.
The training will take place over 3 days: Friday, January 26--Sunday, January 28, 2018. Twenty-five (25) participants will be selected based on an application and screening process (if there are more than 25 applicants). The core of the training will be provided by professional and knowledgeable staff from the Wellstone Group and New American Leaders Project, who are leading the charge around the country to prepare underrepresented leaders to be the next wave of change in our region. The training will focus on creating hard skills in core areas such as campaign strategy and management, fundraising, communication and field operations.
The training will take place at Alliance San Diego in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. Training materials and meals will be provided to all participants. Successful applicants must be available to attend all segments of the training and associated events:
