The 2017 All People's Celebration brought together over 1,000 people from across San Diego County to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The keynote speaker, Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, shared an impassioned keynote address that uplifted this year's theme of Ignite Change.
Rev. Barber’s speech on how to move the country forward was received with “heartfelt cheers, roaring applause, tears and numerous standing ovations”.

The program also featured performances by local artists, a community art project, and a powerful poem by 2016 National Youth Poet, Maya Salameh. In addition, dozens of social justice organizations from across the county provided important information to the public on how to get involved in making San Diego a better place.
